The Wayne Power Drive team traveled to Motorsports Park Hastings in Hastings for the third event of the 2024 Power Drive season.

Drivers competed on a one mile road course.

"On a beautiful day for racing, car A107 driven by Braden Adams took the lead in Advanced class on the first lap.

Car A107 created a two-lap lead going into the mandatory pit stop at the 35 minute mark.  A quick pit stop got the A107 back on the track to continue increasing the lead over the second place car," said Advisor Tony Cantrell.

Car A107 finished the race in first place with a four lap (4 mile) lead over second place.

This is the third race win of the season for A107.

Cars E22, driven by Nina Hammer, and E39, driven by Josh Doring, started the race in another tight battle with two Exhibition class cars from Friend.  All four cars completed similar lap times and were in a pack separated by two seconds.

Positions of all four cars were traded throughout the race, making another exciting race to watch.  Unfortunately, the Blue Devils fell to third and fourth place late in the race and couldn't gain position.  Car E39 finished in third place while completing the fastest lap of the day out of all classes, and the E22 finished in fourth place.

The Blue Devils compete next at the 2024 State Championships in Wayne on Saturday, May 4 at the First National Bank of Omaha Call Center at 1100 East 10th Street.

Wayne will be competing for its second championship in a row.

Preliminary events, including maneuverability, braking, design and construction, begin at 9:30 a.m.  Weather permitting, the endurance rally begins at 1 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.
