Dwight E. Oberle, 71, of Norfolk, Dwight died Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at his residence in Norfolk. 

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19 at Grace Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Rev. Chris Asbury will be officiating the service. Following the funeral luncheon, burial will be held at the Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Plainview. Visitation will be 4 -7 p.m., Tuesday, June 18 at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. 

Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. 

Dwight E. Oberle was born Nov. 18, 1952 in Coleridge, to Raymond and Lois (Burkhardt) Oberle. He attended grade school in Coleridge, Scottsbluff, and then graduated from Norfolk Senior High School 1971. After high school Dwight lived in Norfolk and worked as assistant manager at Safeway in Norfolk. He married Connie Hoffart on Nov. 18, 1972 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Plainview. Dwight worked in Central City as assistant manager of Safeway from 1976 to 1984. He then owned and operated Oberle’s Market in Winside until 2012. Dwight later worked at Great Dane as Head Security Guard from 2012 to 2022 until he got his diagnosis for esophageal cancer. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Winside until 2022 and then at Grace Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Dwight enjoyed playing cards, shopping for cars, and traveling and spending time with his family. 

Survivors include his wife Connie Oberle of Norfolk; daughter, Patricia Kramer of Lincoln and her children Shanna, Beau, and Jayda; daughter, Kristina Thornton of Bennington and her children Chloe, Zech, and Ellie; daughter, Kimberley (Moses) Fisher of Meridian, Idaho and their children Noah, Reya, and Jaxon; daughter,Lisa (Dan) Reinhardt of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and their children Carter, Wesley, Stella, and Isla; his mother, Lois Oberle of Norfolk; siblings Don (Susan) Oberle, Karen (Byron) Kalin, Amy (Jeff) Steffen, all of Norfolk, Gail (Dean) Talbott of Hoskins, Keith Oberle of Beatrice, Brian (Xiaojuan Liu) Oberle of Walnut Creek, California, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dean (Doris) Hoffart of Norfolk; brother-in-law, Steve (Lori) Hoffart of Omaha, and sister-in-law, Terri Gambill of Ainsworth. 

He was preceded in death by his father Ray Oberle.

Casket bearers will be Moses Fisher, Noah Fisher, Dan Reinhardt, Zechariah Thornton, Beau Kramer, John Oberle, Landon Steffen, Lukas Steffen.
