Wayne Community Theatre to present play 'Fools'

The Wayne Community Theatre's next production will be "Fools," a comic fable by Neil Simon.

Shows are scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday, July 18, 19 and 20.

Show time will be at 7 p.m. on the July 18 and 19 and at 2 p.m. on July 20 in the Black Box Theatre in the lower leverl of the Peterson Fine Arts building on the Wayne State College campus.

The play is set in a small village in the Ukrane during the late 19th century and follows Leon Steponvich Tolchinsky, a school teacher who takes on a new job of educating  Sophia, the daughter of Dr. Zubrissky and his wife, Lenya.

Leon soon learns that there is a curse on the village that make everyone stupid, but complications ensue when Leon falls in love with his pupil.

Tickets are available 30 minutes prior to showtime.

The production in being produced by the Wayne Community Theatre with permission by Concord Theatricals.

It is sponsored by Refind & Refresh and a grant from the Wayne County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
